Next Generation Cast Urethanes

 
     
 

QuantumCast™ is a proprietary multi-step technology that applies vacuum, heat and pressure to process advanced formula polymers (AFP’s) yielding void-free, strong and stable pre-production and shortrun production components. This low pressure injection molding into re-enforced soft tools combines the benefits of rubber molds (speed and versatility) with quantum improvements in mechanical properties of our AFP materials.

Developed by Solid Concepts, this next generation polyurethane technology surpasses conventional RTV urethane casting. Those familiar with cast urethanes know that all two part polymer systems fully cross link only under elevated temperature. Additionally, processing under high pressure eliminates shrink and enhances final mechanical properties. Attention to process control delivers optimum mechanical properties. Specifically, our AFP3100 has over three times the impact strength of old-style cast urethanes and at the same time offers excellent rigidity (high flex modulus).
