One of the largest providers of Rapid Prototyping, Solid Concepts, purchases second 3D Systems SLA-500/30 Stereolithography Apparatus to meet their high demand for rapid prototyping services.
January 12, 1995, Valencia, CA. -- Solid Concepts is pleased to announce the purchase of a second 3D Systems SLA-500/30 Stereolithography Apparatus, becoming operational as of February 1, 1995.
With the addition of the second SLA-500/30 to the existing SLA-500/30 and the three SLA 250s now in operation, the Valencia, California, company remains one of the largest providers of rapid prototyping services in the world.
Schuyler Mitchell, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Solid Concepts, noted, "Due to the large increase in demand for our services, we have enlarged our manufacturing capability an additional 45% in just the last nine months. This will allow Solid Concepts to maintain the high part quality and fast turnaround time to which our customers are accustomed." SLA-500/30: Higher Accuracy, Better Finish, Faster Turnaround.
The enhanced performance of the SLA-500/30 has three primary benefits for our customers: improved part accuracy, better surface finish, and faster turnaround of engineering designs into precision prototypes.
The large size capacity of the SLA-500/30 (20"x20"x24"), coupled with the use of the most advanced zero-shrinkage epoxy photopolymer available, allows Solid Concepts to produce full-size, high tolerance prototypes and patterns for investment castings, sand castings, and RTV molding.
Solid Concepts can create prototypes and patterns using virtually any engineering data or design specifications working from .STL files, CAD data, engineering drawings, a concept rendering or even a napkin sketch. Data can be communicated directly via high-speed modem or through the Internet (solidconcepts.com 204.118.49.2). To meet the full range of customer needs, Solid Concepts also provides low volume manufacturing and production tooling as required.
