SLS is an additive rapid manufacturing process that blurs the line between prototype and production parts. In this process, CO2 lasers sinter (heat and fuse) powdered material into strong functional models ready for a variety of evaluation methods, such as electronic packaging, high-temperature components and snap fits.
Parts can be created from a variety of strong nylon materials, including our custom NyTek™ SLS® material. Our SLS materials provide the accuracy and durability necessary for Direct Digital Manufacturing of production parts from CAD data and without tooling.

Solid Concepts Inc. is pleased to announce a breakthrough in MR transparent materials, PT8958. This material will not image at 1.5 T in proton signal testing. In our tests, coupons have shown no proton signal or magnetic susceptibility at 1.5 and 3.0 T.
The PT8958 material is the most workable advanced polyurethane for the MRI coil industry resulting in excellent feature detail and overall accuracy. This material is ideally suited for MRI coil enclosures fabricated with our proprietary QuantumCast™ process.
Additionally, our paint passed all three tests for: Cytotoxicity (ISO Agarose Overlay Method), ISO Closed Patch Sensitization Study and ISO Skin Irritation Study.
